Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is proud to present the popular touring production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM on the CSC stage downtown on May 29 & 30 at 7:30pm. This very funny and family friendly production appeared in the 2010 & 2011 “Shakespeare in the Park” tour for thousands of people in Cincinnati and surrounding community parks. They have since been touring and performing the production at dozens of schools and community centers all season long and have seen over 10,000 students with just this show alone! CSC is excited to be able to offer a chance for anyone who has missed it to see this hilarious staging of Shakespeare’s most loved comedy one more time this season indoors at the CSC theatre for only $15!

Directed by CSC Artistic Associate Sara Clark, this classic romantic comedy features the CSC Touring Company Darnell Pierre Benjamin, Audrey Bertaux-Skeirik, Ian Bond, Cary Davenport, Miranda McGee & Maggie Lou Rader. Director Sara Clark has created a streamlined production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” that clocks in just under two hours running time, while maintaining Shakespeare’s original text. The production uses simple costumes and minimal set pieces in order to keep the focus on Shakespeare’s story, characters and poetry. Ms. Clark says of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, “This show is very aware of its own theatricality, the actors will be onstage the whole time, and costume and scene changes will be in full view of the audience and often integrated into the action.” Ms. Clark says that this show is “fast, furious, and very funny!” William Shakespeare’s classic tale of love, comedy, romance, and mischief will feel right at home on CSC’s stage.

This is your last chance to see “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” as the 2012 Shakespeare in the Park tour will feature two new touring productions. “The Tempest” directed by Billy Chace and “Macbeth” directed by Sara Clark will be presented with several productions being sponsored by “ArtsWave Presents…”. The Shakespeare in the Park tour will begin in August 2012 this year. Many parks already have booked CSC for this season including locations in Cincinnati, West Chester, Monroe, Northern Kentucky and more. If you are interested in bringing either of CSC’s productions to your park, community center or to your school or classroom during the 2012-2013 school year, please contact Jeanna Vella at 513.381.2273 x. 3202.
