Arsenic and Old Lace
By Joe Kesselring
We meet the charming and innocent ladies who populate their cellar with The Remains of socially and religiously "acceptable" roomers; the antics of their brother who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt; and the murderous activities of the psychotic other brother, Jonathon. ARSENIC AND OLD LACE is a ready-made comedy hit. Elizabeth A. Harris, Director; Carissa Gandenberger, Production Stage Manager

Rehearsals begin: Monday, May 14, 2012
Performance dates: June 13 – July 1, 2012

All roles are paid positions. No roles have been precast. The production is open to non-traditional casting. Characters include:

Mortimer Brewster: The slighlty neurotic nephew to Abby and Martha Brewster, who most come face to face with his maniac brother, Jonathon.
Elaine Harper: Mortimer's pretty, independent girlfriend
Abby Brewster: One of the two insane "Brewster aunts," who believes murdering lonely old men to be an act of charity.
Martha Brewster: The other insane "Brewster aunt," who serves as Abby's partner in crime.
Jonathon Brewster: Mortimer's evil, maniac brother, who, because of numerous plastic surgeries, bears a striking resemblance to Boris Karloff.
Dr. Einstein: Jonathon's partner in crime, who hopes that they will be able to turn the Brewster house into an evil laboratory.
Teddy Brewster: The kindhearted brother to Mortimer and Jonathon--who honestly believes that he is President Theodore Roosevelt.
Mr. Witherspoon: (Cameo) The caretaker of Happy Dale Sanitarium.
Officer O'Hara: (Cameo) The determined police officer who is also an aspiring playwright.
Lieutenant Rooney: (Cameo) A police officer who aids Mortimer in his fight against Jonathon.
Mr. Gibbs: (Cameo) A lonely little old man who nearly falls victim to the aunts' charity.
Reverend Dr. Harper: (Cameo) Father to Elaine Harper; The minister who runs the church nextdoor to the Brewster house.
Officer Brophy/ Officer Klein: (Cameos) Officers who make their rounds collecting Christmas toys, and aid Mortimer in his fight against Jonathon.

For George M! (The Showboat Show #3)

Adults (17 + years of age): MUST HAVE A RESUME listing theatrical experience in order to audition. A headshot/picture is appreciated but not required. Auditionees should prepare excerpt (16-32 bars) that best represents his/her voice and bring sheet music for the accompanist in the proper key. No a cappella or recorded music auditions please. Auditionees will read from the script and may be asked to do a dance audition as well (bring tap and character shoes please).

George M!
Music and Lyrics by George M. Cohan; Book by Michael Stewart, John Pascal and Francine Pascal
Lyrics and Musical Revisions by Mary Cohan
GEORGE M! tells the life story of George M. Cohan, a giant of the American musical theater who gave us such songs as Yankee Doodle Dandy, Over There, You're A Grand Old Flag, and Give My Regards to Broadway, and who transformed the Broadway variety show into a book-driven musical where song and dance advance plot. We follow him over a 60-year period from his childhood in Rhode Island on the vaudeville circuit with his parents and sister as "The Four Cohans," to New York, where he starts his 25-year absolute reign of the Broadway stage. Matt Wilson, Director; Eric Baumgartner, Music Director; Jeni Schwiers, Choreographer; Ashley Bowman, Production Stage Manager
